Flowers bisexual, dark crimson, solitary or 2-5 together, calyx campanulate, irregularly lobed . Carolla red, petals 5, obovate to elliptic-obovate, recurved.Stamens 65-80, 3-7.5 cm long in 5 bundles. Ovary conical, tomentose, 5-celled; ovules many. Style exceeding the stamens.
