Description of Species Deciduous trees,up to 30 m high. bark dark, deeply cracked, young parts rusty tomentose. Leaves sub opposite or upper ones alternate, oblong or elliptic ovate or ovate – oblong, 12 – 20 × 7 – 10 cm, glabrescent above, pubescent beneath, entire or serrulate, obtuse or shortly pointed; petioles short, with 2 glands at the base. Flowers dull yellow, 2 – 3 mm across, in erect, axillary or terminal, densely pubescent spikes, 7 – 20 cm long.
