Description of Species |
Deciduous shrubs or small trees,up to 4 m tall, with grey bark and long, stout, axillary, spines long . Leaves ovate – spathulate, cuneate at base, obtuse or subacute, pubescent or glabrous; stipules ovate, acuminate. Flowers white or cream – yellow, 1 – few, in axillary clusters, at the end of short arrested branches; calyx tube terete; lobes 5, lanceolate; corolla white or creamy; lobes 5, oval, spreading. Stamens 5, subsessile; with narrow anthers. Fruit a berry yellow, globose, slightly ribbed. |
