Description of Species |
Deciduous trees, up to 10 m high. Bark dark brown. Leaves cordate or truncate at base, ovate to orbicular, coriaceous, glabrous or grey pubescent beneath. petioles long. Flowers white, on lax terminal, leaf opposed, raceme. Calyx spathaceous; limb reflexed. Petals as long as calyx, white or pale – yellow. Fertile stamens 10. Pods turgid, rigid, falcate, indhiscent; 10 – 20 seeded, seeds compressed, dark red – brown. |
