Description of Species |
An evergreen tree with an open, fan-like crown; usually grows up to 20 metres tall., cylindrical stem can be solitary, or branched at the base. Leaves large, banana-like up to 4 metres long, petiole stout, deep-green, somewhat succulent, long with slits perpendicular to the long primary “veins”. Flower a cyme, present in boat-shaped, cream-white to light-green colored spathes, white, 3 petals per flower. Fruits capsule, seeds small. |
