Description of Species | An erect, sparsely-branched annual shrub up to 3 m tall; young stem glabrous or nearly so, sparsely to rather densely aculeate. Leaves, compound, alternate, pinnate, stipules membranous, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, leaflets 10-50 pairs, linear-oblong, apex obtuse, mucronate, base acute, glabrous on both surfaces. Flowers borne on 3-6 flowered drooping racemes; filiform; calyx membranous, glabrous, teeth deltoid, much shorter than the tube; corolla yellow usually with red dots on the back of the glabrous standard.
