Description of Species | Tree, 12-15 m tall; bark smooth, ash-coloured; branchlets ferruginous-tomentose. Leaves polymorphous, obovate to orbicular or oblong, cordate, sometimes peltate at base, coarsely serrate at margin, entire or sinuately lobed at apex, grey-tomentose beneath; stipules multifid, caducous. Flowers axillary, solitary or in 2 or 3 flowered cymes, fragrant; bracts semilunar; bracteoles laciniate, caducous. Sepals linear-oblong, obtuse, fleshy, densely tomentose outside, villous inside. Petals linear-oblong, slightly shorter than sepals, stellate-pubescent outside, white. Staminodes clavate. Ovary oblong, 5-loculed; ovules many in 2 rows; stigma clavate.
