Description of Species Deciduous trees, up to 15 m high; often thorny; bark ashy – grey, rough. Leaves on young plants 3 – 5 lobed, mature leaves simple, ovate or ovate – lanceolate, acuminate, crenate. Flowers large white, tinged – brownish, Calyx tube campnulate, connate to the walls of ovary. Petals 5, obovate – orbicular. Carpels enclosed within calyx tube and adnate to it. Fruits globose, yellowish – brown, black when ripe, fleshy, specked with white dots on the rough surface.
