Erect stout, succulent, branched shrubs, with flattened, obovate joints. Spines 3 – 7, from an areole, yellowish, translucent. Flowers large, 6 – 8 cm long, with bright yellow petals. Stamens included. Berries globose, fleshy and glochidiate. |
