Description of Species |
Unarmed shrubs or small deciduous trees, to 5 m high. Leaves 2 – pinnate; pinnae 2 – 8 pairs; leaflets 15 -20 pairs, elliptic, 10 – 14 x 2 mm, acute, glabrous. Flowers sessile, white in axillary, globose, 1.5 cm across heads, forming short terminal leafy panicles. Calyx campanulate, teeth short. Corolla of 5 – petals, free, linear. Stamens 10; anthers versatile, without glands. Ovary stipitate, stigma short. Pods clustered in umbels, straight – linear, flat, 10 – 16 x 1 – 1.5 cm, 2 valved; seeds 15 – 20, polished – brown, oval. |
