Description of Species Subdeciduous, spinous trees or shrubs; stem grey brown, young branches densely tomentose. Leaves variable, elliptic, ovate – oblong, 3 – 5 cm long, serrulate, base subcordate, obtuse or acute tip, dark – green, glabrous above; pale – tomentose beneath. Prickles solitary, straight or curved. Flowers in short axillary, subsessile cymes; greenish – yellow, about 4 mm across. Calyx lobes deflexed. Petals 5, with claws. Disc fleshy, 10 lobed. Ovary 2 – celled; styles 2, connate at meddle. Drupes yellow or reddish, globose, fleshy, 8 – 12 mm across. Leaf Details Leaves variable, elliptic, ovate – oblong, 3 – 5 cm long, serrulate, base subcordate, obtuse or acute tip, dark – green, glabrous above; pale – tomentose beneath.
