Description of Species Evergreen shrubs or small trees; branchlets glabrous, stem pale – green, to 6m high. Leaves elliptic or elliptic – lanceolate, 7 – 15 x 2.5 – 4 cm, dark green, glossy above, pale beneath, strongly 3 – nerved from the base; petioles 3 – 5 mm long. Male flowers cream – yellow, in axillary, single or thyrsoid glabrous cymes; bracts subulate, frequently puberulous; petals emarginate, clasping the stamens. Female flowers with 6 – staminodes; carpels 3; style slender, reflexed. Drupes rotund glabrous, green to blackish, 4 – 8 mm long. Leaf Details Leaves elliptic or elliptic – lanceolate, 7 – 15 x 2.5 – 4 cm, dark green, glossy above, pale beneath, strongly 3 – nerved from the base; petioles 3 – 5 mm long.
