Description of Species |
Large climbers, quite glabrous, except young parts; stem hollow, striate; bark smooth, green-purple, covered with thin glaucous bloom; tendrils forked. Leaves simple, 3-7 angled or lobed, orbicular, cordate, dentate; glabrescent when mature; base 5-7 nerved. Flowers small, reddish-brown, 5-merous, in axillary short peduncled cymes, together with tendrils; pedicel almost equal to flowers. Petals 5, distinct. Style very short or absent. Berries globose, black, succulent, 2-seeded; seeds elliptic, margins rugose. |
