Description of Species | Large deciduous tree up to 50 m tall. Bark grayish brown with large white patches and deep vertical furrows peeling off in pieces. Latex milky, copious, Leaves of seedling, saplings and young shoots pinnafid or lobed. Leaves elliptic, oblong or ovate, 15-36 × 7-20 cm, margin entire or minutely dentate serrate, apex acute, obtuse or slightly cuspidate, thinly coriaceous, sparsely hispid above, hispid pubescent beneath, lateral veins 6-10 on either side of the midvein, reticulation distinct, pilose of hispid tomentose, petiole pubescent, 1-2.5 cm long, stipules large amplexicaul. Inflorescence or receptacle axillary, solitary, globose, peduncles long, puberulous. Male flowers sessile, mixed with scales, perianth segments oblong 2-3, pubescent, bifid at the apex, filaments short, anthers exserted, 2-celled. Female flowers globose to ellipsoid, tuberculate, bracts peltate. Style exserted. Fruiting syncarp yellow when young. Drupes ellipsoid.
